The playground is open 4 days a week, running after school, weekends and during school holidays. By providing and creating a safe and stimulating environment, children and young people are able to experience play opportunities that offer levels of risk and challenge which may not be available to them in other play spaces. The Big Swing Adventure Playground offers children a space to test boundaries and choose activities whilst being supervised by qualified playworkers. Eccleshill Adventure Playground also delivers an outreach service, taking adventure play into 5 different communities across the Bradford District. Alongside this we have developed an Inclusion project, coordinate and hold annual play forums and provide a playwork apprenticeship scheme. Eccleshill Adventure Playground is a small charity and relies on grants and donations to survive. Donations of money or fund raising is always appreciated. We use this money in many ways, such as buying food for our cook and eat sessions or building new and exciting play structures with the children.
