YTD Raised: $85.00

At Cancer Council SA, we believe we can and will beat cancer and there are things we can all do every day to bring that day closer. We are the only organisation in South Australia that works across every area of every cancer: • Research    • Prevention  • Support   • Advocacy We are here for people touched by cancer today and to prevent and manage cancer into the future. Our unique combination of local program delivery, community engagement and national influence enables everyone who cares about beating cancer make the biggest possible difference. Since we first started our work in 1928, we have seen support for people with cancer improve, prevention campaigns work and, since 1990, survival rates for many common cancers increase by as much as 30 per cent. As an independent, non-government organisation, this incredible work is only made possible by the extraordinarily generous support of the South Australian community: our donors, our volunteers and our Ambassadors. To them, we say thank you.

Buckmore Park Scout Campsite (UK, 1171239) Browse events

YTD Raised: £85.00

Buckmore Park Scout Campsite covers 142 acres of woodland with cleared areas suitable for camping and other activities. Parts of Buckmore Park is classified as Ancient Woodland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with areas of special archaeological interest and as such has to be managed very carefully to ensure that scouting can continue without damaging the delicate balance of nature and history, so that it will be there for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and their Leaders for generations to come. As well as scouting and guiding use, the site is also ideal for Duke of Edinburgh award training, schools to enhance areas of their curriculum for G.C.S.E, Forest Schools and other youth organisations to add to young people’s experiences and developing outdoor skills that are often not available in Town Centre locations. We pride ourselves as being one of the finest back to basics sites in the UK. With our range of easily accessible campsites and some other more challenging locations we really do have something for all. Our list of activities continues to grow and we are now able to offer mountain biking, air rifle shooting, archery, geocaching, orienteering, cat a splat, slack lining and our superb caving network. With soon to be added activities such as climbing, axe throwing, assault course and Beaver zone with mini assault course and other activities for the younger scouts among you we are listening to what you want from your park.
