Phil’s Kids aims to increase awareness and offer financial support to those people with Huntington's Disease (HD) in their families who are or wish to undergo PGD-IVF thus reducing the number of children born with HD. If we can help to stop this ticking time bomb in just one family, it will be worthwhile. If we can prevent another family having to walk the path so many before us have trodden, then all the better. HD can strike in children or adults and there is, at present, no other way of ensuring that it does not continue its march. PGD-IVF offers families a chance to take back control and stop HD once and for all. Unfortunately, even if the local NHS Trust covers the procedure costs, and some may not be able to, they do not cover incidental costs such as travel and medication. Current policy also does not allow funding for families to have a second child. We aim to fill these gaps in provision by raising funds. Please lend your support and help us to make this dream come true for some very deserving families.
