We engage with actors from the age of 10 to 80+ and teamwork is the name of the game. With 37 Member Drama Festivals running 31 One Act and 11 Full Length play festivals throughout the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and one European member festival. This includes 22 Youth festivals. Our annual British All Winners Festival showcases the very ‘best of the best’ Adult and Youth participation in Full length and One Act plays across the UK. We engage a professional Adjudicator to give us feedback on every play performed: at the end of each evening. This “adjudication” is given to the whole audience and the performing drama groups, providing a valuable learning experience to all performers, directors, technicians, authors and interested audience members. During the week-long competitive British All Winners Festival 3 full-length plays are performed; 9 One Act Plays are performed; 3 Youth One Act plays are performed. We also encourage a special educational needs group to perform on the festival stage. This has developed into a very special part of our Festival week, the group who perform receive the “Star Bright Award” during our presentation of festival awards. We also support and promote new writing for the theatre, awarding the George Taylor Memorial Award during the week.

(UK, 1124556) Browse eventsecoACTIVE is a charity with a long track record of supporting people to take action to tackle the most pressing environmental problems. Last year we launched our Hackney Loves Clean Air project in three Hackney schools. It was a huge success and we hope to run the project again in 2018. Nearly 9,500 people die early each year in London due to long-term exposure to air pollution, according to a 2015 study carried out by researchers at King’s College London. We deliver the Hackney Loves Clean Air project in partnership with local primary schools. In each school we work with children, parents and teachers to raise awareness of the causes of air pollution and its impact on the health of Hackney’s population. We support teams of children ‘citizen scientists’ to carry out experiments in their schools to measure air pollution and publicise the findings to the wider school community. We support people to take steps to reduce air pollution and minimise its impact on their health. This could involve making fewer car journeys, reducing car idling or taking a different route to school to avoid roads with very high levels of air pollution.
