That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Salisbury Foodbank has provided emergency food to more than 5,000 people in the last year. A 30% increase compared to the previous year. We need your support to continue to do this. YTD Raised: £270.00HDSSG was set up by parent volunteers in the Huddersfield district of children with Down Syndrome. As a group we aim to provide support to the families, to celebrate our children’s achievements, champion their views and aspirations and also provide social, sporting and learning opportunities for the children and their siblings. We use valuable donations from smashing people just like you to fund fun things like activities and outings but also the serious stuff like resources and speech & language therapy. A donation of £60 lets up to 8 of our families have private use of a hydrotherapy swimming pool for an hour. It costs £500 for 14 of our children to access 'Chatterbox' - our speech and language therapy programme with our qualified therapist, Louise Usher, once a month. £4 helps us put together a 'New Parent' pack. These are distributed to local hospitals to be given to new parents of babies with Down Syndrome congratulating them on their new arrival, and letting them know we are here when they need us.
