We support children with developmental trauma and/or attachment difficulties caused by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), eg. neglect/abuse. We work with schools, services and families to understand and help children to manage their emotions and behaviour and make good relationships.
Headway West Sussex provides on-going support and information to people living with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), their carer(s) and family no matter how long ago the brain injury was sustained and for as long as both the survivor, their carer(s) and family need it. We run a counselling service, 4 support groups and social groups, we also provide a Family & Carer Information pack and run a Support & Information Service. Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary (****S) was established in 2008, and is an independent charity with no ties to, or funding from, the racing industry. It is devoted to rescuing and rehoming greyhounds and lurchers in need. Windows for Peace fosters contact between young Palestinans and Israelis using journalism and video based projects. It also promotes dialogue between Muslim, Jewish, Arab and Palestinian young people in the UK.
Base 33 provides intensive support to young people experiencing challenges because of difficult family circumstances, drug/alcohol mis-use, homelessness, and involvement in crime and risky behaviour. We are the only centre in West Oxfordshire (population 106,000) that provides a specialist service for vulnerable and chaotic young people through mentoring, project work and our health drop-in. We take referrals from the police, schools and local drug agencies. We support an average of 150 young people aged 13-25 each week. We have been working in Witney (population 23,000) for 14 years.
