(AU, 42135196244) The Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation funds medical research into the cause, prevention, treatment and cure of leukaemia and other diseases treatable by bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. Arrow currently supports critical research into how microRNA genes contribute to the uncontrolled growth and immature features which are hallmarks of leukaemia. This year, Arrow awarded four PhD scholarships in support of research into leukaemia and stem cell transplantation; and six nursing scholarships to nurses wanting to further their education in the field of blood cancers with the College of Nursing. Arrow also supports patients through accommodation, education, travel assistance and a free Wig Library for patients experiencing hair loss through chemotherapy.

Our services in Buckinghamshire are provided from Oasis House in Wycombe and Unity House in Aylesbury as well as sattelite services in Chesham, Amersham, Buckingham and South Bucks. Our Harm Minimisation services in Oxfordshire are provided in partnership with Oxford Health NHS FT and are based at Rectory Road Oxford City, whilst our assessment and engagement service is provided in partnership with Lifeline and Probation from the Old Music Hall in Cowley Road. Oasis provides many different opportunities for individuals to aid recovery, support people and change lives. All fundraised money goes straight into the support and development of the Oasis Republic Recovery Network. Service user involvment ensures that funds are directed to where they are needed most. We are very happy to discuss different options and opportunities with you and could work together to make a real impact.

Special Olympics are a recognised member of the Olympic family with a unique role to play. The Paralympics provides sports competitions for elite level disabled athletes with physical and sensory disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, while Special Olympics fosters community sport year round at all levels for those with intellectual disabilities. Some people think that Special Olympics involves just a few days of games once or twice a year. In reality, the training never stops and is as important as the competition itself. Special Olympics offers a lifetime of learning through sport and benefits individuals of all ages and ability levels from those with low motor abilities to highly skilled athletes.

Working with our clients to explore and discuss their options with them so they feel informed and empowered to make decisions of their own, with confidence. We can give advice in many areas including, consumer issues, relationships, welfare benefits, debt/money advice, housing problems for home owners and tenants, discrimination, employment and health. Not only do we provide the advice people need for the problems they face, we have a local research and campaign group and we seek to champion the rights of individuals at a local, regional and national level. We seek to influence and improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.
