The other half of the proceeds is retained by the trust and is used for a variety of other charitable purposes including disaster relief and local good causes. The trust raises funds for its charitable purposes in a variety of other ways, including the Beccles Hospital Fete, the proceeds of which are used to support the League of Friends of Beccles & District War Memorial Hospital and other medically-related local charities.
