(UK, 1137365) School Aid 4 Africa is a new charity supported by volunteers who are mainly ex Enduro Africa Riders (www.enduroafrica.com) and UK school children. We operate as Touch Africa (UK), an extension of Touch Africa (South Africa) that was formed in 2008 (www.touchafrica.eu). The Transkei or Wild Coast of South Africa holds the 10 worst places in the world to be a child (Sunday Times March 2008). Our mission is to help get the children of this area educated and hopefully they will begin to help themselves. To do this we strive simply to make School a better place than home by the provision of electricity, audio visual aids, classrooms, container kitchens, sports equipment and desks and chairs. We are lucky to be blessed by so many voluntary supporters so a maximum of benefit is derived from your donations. It is truly suprising how much difference you can really make to these childrens lives for ever. Our charity has simple objectives are:To advance education, relieve need and promote health for children, in particular but not limited to children in South Africa, by the provision of facilities, services, funds or resources for projects that can achieve these aims.

The Fund was set up in 1974 and over the last 10 years it has handed out over £1 million in benefits to help serving and retired officers, police staff and their families. Public donations and legacies enables the charity to provide life changing equipment, including mobility aids, to members who have been injured whilst on duty. Donations will also support members diagnosed with a serious illness, recovering from life-changing surgery, coping with a chronic health condition.or dealing with an unexpected life event. The Benevolent Fund also offers convalescence and rehabilitation breaks to speed recovery or enhance well being as well as providing on going financial assistance to police widows and orphans.
