Our works helps to support people's health and wellbeing and keeps people connected to others. We offer befriending, respite sitting, hospital transport, social groups and counselling. We have a fantastic team of 15 staff and 80 volunteers who visit our clients and support our work.

Each year bt4tw strives to provide the opportunity for 52 servicemen or women to be taken on a motorcycle tour of Route 66 as a pillion at no cost to themselves. This is achieved through the numerous fundraising activities we organise and the generous donations from the general public. These tours can be both mentally and physically challenging and have proven to be extremely beneficial for those who have taken part, at varying stages of their rehabilitation process.

YTD Raised: £159.00Fishing for Heroes was established in July 2009 and was registered as a charity on the 1st of April 2010 (charity number 1135355) in order to provide therapy and support for both veterans and serving military personnel from the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces who may be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Combat Fatigue and any other mental or emotional disorder due to active service. We have no restriction with regards to the theatre of war the veterans took part in; hence we include service in amongst other places such as Korea, Malaysia, Northern Ireland, Falklands and Kosovo as well as more recent conflicts What we achieve We: The Cost of Helping The cost incurred will include Travell costs to and from the course venues. The accommodations we use are family type bed and breakfast establishments. This gives us low cost and safe accommodation whilst putting the veterans back into a family environment, for some possibly for the first time in many years. Each veteran receives a 1:1 assessment and tuition from a fully qualified instructor/assessor all of whom are very experienced in dealing with people who have behavioral challenges. This element is tailored to each individual as their needs will vary in response to the effects of the support given to the individual veteran or serving personnel. The cost of caring for the veterans can vary and the help and support which we offer depends very much on each individual, however we have found over the last 3 years that the average cost to the charity is in the region of £1000 per annum, per person.
