Lucy Faithfull Foundation (UK, 1013025) Browse events

YTD Raised: £180.01

The Lucy Faithfull Foundation is the only UK-wide child protection charity dedicated solely to reducing the risk of children being sexually abused. It it runs the Stop it Now! Helpline and Campaign and the Parents Protect! project. You can use the links on the left to find out more about these. Our vision is of a society where children are free from sexual abuse and exploitation. The majority of children who suffer sexual abuse are abused by someone they know, someone in their family/social network. This makes it incredibly hard for them to tell anyone and is why we, as adults, must do all we can to protect them. Our work places a protective shield around children, to help prevent abuse from happening ever, or again. Specialist staff work with everyone involved in a child’s life, tackling the problem from all angles.Where abuse has already taken place, we work with all those affected:- adult male/female abusers; young people with harmful sexual behaviour; children with concerning sexual behaviours; victims of abuse and other family members. We also work in families where there has been no abuse, to help them keep themselves and others as safe as possible. This comprehensive approach is the only way we can effectively tackle child sexual abuse.

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. We are small swimming club in West Cumbria which is going to be demolished to make way for a development of houses, business units and a hotel. Our lease has been terminated and we desperately need a replacement, which will cost up to £500,000. Our small pool has been in existence for 40 years and run as a charity for 20, most local children have learnt to swim in it. We keep it warmer than most pools so it is great for the young, the not so young and those with disabilities. It was open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was run by a team of dedicated volunteers, opening, closing, cleaning and maintaining the chemical balance. The community can't afford to lose this valuable resource. Please help to get us swimming again! Please donate to support our cause. Charity No: 1163639
