Around 42,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK; if detected at an early stage the 5-year survival rate is over 90% and GUTS works to improve early detection. We fund equipment and facilities at the Royal Surrey County Hospital that benefit bowel cancer patients from across the south of England. We also fund research into the disease and campaign for greater awareness of bowel cancer. (UK, SC030626) The Maxie Richards Foundation is a not-for-profit service, providing support and guidance to those affected with alcohol and drug addictions. Founded in 1994, the charity has grown steadily over the years and in 2002 established its residential rehabilitation centre, The King’s Court. From our safe and supportive base, we provide those suffering from addiction with the opportunity and resources to rebuild their lives. The Maxie Richards Foundation is one of the few establishments in the United Kingdom which focuses not just on physical health, but mental wellbeing, community involvement, and relationship building. The work that we do has a higher success rate than other forms of treatment but is sadly not funded through the government. As such, we rely on donations and grants to continue our work. We appreciate your support.
