Kinfest

YTD Raised: £255.00The aim of Kinfest is to alleviate the isolation felt by kinship children and their carers, by providing opportunities for them to share recreational time together so that they may support each other. Each year Kinfest organises two holidays, a Christmas meal and get together and various regional day trips. Some lifelong friendships have begun at Kinfest. During the holidays there are a number of events organised to promote families spending time together. In previous years the organised events have included a Sunday roast lunch, a circus skills workshop, a magic show, a BBQ, sports day and ‘bring a dish’ evening to name a few! In 2016 we were also able to offer a training session for kinship carers for the first time. Training which is automatically offered to ‘regular,’ foster carers but is seldom offered to kinship carers even though our children can face many of the same issues. Kinfest is a registered Charity number 1171491 and is run entirely by volunteer kinship carers, all funds raised are used to fund future Kinfest events. (UK, 306622) Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust owns three zoos, Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts and Newquay Zoo. It also owns two nature reserves and a National Nature Reserve in South Devon. Wildlife conservation is a major concern across the globe, as species and their habitats face a number of threats such as habitat destruction, the illegal wildlife trade, pollution, competition from introduced species and climate change many of which are caused by human activities. The Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust co-ordinates seven regional conservation programmes in the UK and overseas. These projects strive to protect and preserve endangered species whilst undertaking vital research.

College Town Schools PTA raise money for both the schools and use our events to raise community spirit between the staff, parents/carers, and the local community.Events we run include fetes, cake sales, a monthly lottery, evening events, and our famous Frozen Friday ice cream sales in the summer.We also fund raise by producing Christmas cards for both schools, and a yearbook for the infant school.We also aid the schools in running their own events, for example fun runs or selling tea/coffee at events.
