Explorer Scouts are aged 14-17 and we have 3 Units in the District each meeting Weekly. Farriers meet in Leonard Stanley, Badbrook meet in Stroud and CIA meet in Eastcombe.Young men and women take part in various activities and adventures as part of our programme where they are taught and learn life skills that help develop them as active young people who can contribute positively to local communities. With the support, direction and guidance of Unit leaders, Explorer Scouts are encouraged to lead themselves, design their own programme and work towards the top awards that Scouting offers. With exciting prospects like being a part of camps and expeditions both home and abroad; adventurous activities such as mountaineering, parascending and off shore sailing; Explorers offers fun and adventure for all. London Taxi Benevolent Association for War Disabled

YTD Raised: £285.00The London Taxi Benevolent Association for War Disabled was formed in February 1947 and in the same year, the charity organised a convoy of 25 taxis taking 50 war disabled to Brighton. From 1949 to the present day, we have made Worthing our annual destination. In 2015, over 120 cab drivers volunteered their time to take part in the trip. Other outings include trips to Normandy and Arnhem to commemorate a number of different anniversaries. London taxi drivers and committee members give their time to ensure the success of these outings through driving and raising funds. The funding of the association is purely through charity donations and collections throughout the year.The charity’s patrons include Dame Vera Lynn and Joanna Lumley. The idea was developed by Stephanie & Kris Douglas who's 4 year old son Sam has benefitted tremendously from amazing community fundraising to help him access therapies that the family could only previously have dreamt of.
