(UK, 292579) Pathways to Independence is a charity specifically set up to support homeless people across our region. At any one time we are working with around 100 people across Medway and Kent who would otherwise have nowhere to live. We aim to provide our clients with the support, skills and tools to maintain independent living and make a meaningful contribution to their community either through employment or volunteering.

YTD Raised: £200.00At Christ Church Pre-School Playgroup we aim to provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age in a happy and relaxed yet organised environment where children can become used to spending time away from their parents, learn to play together and take their place as members of a group. We work in partnership with parents to help the children to learn and develop and the service we offer to children and their families promotes equality and values diversity. We believe the education of young children is founded in play. The children are provided with a wide range of stimulating and absorbing activities, which we believe will help build their self-esteem, self-confidence, independence and creativity while developing their observation, enjoyment and appreciation of the world around them. As a registered charity, we rely on fundraising activities for additional income, which is invested directly into the Pre-School’s funds to benefit our children.

The Little Angel Theatre

Little Angel Theatre is known as The Home of British Puppetry. Since 1961 children and adults have been entertained in the 100-seat theatre in Islington. The theatre also works with schools and local children through education projects and participation work. It must fundraise over 250,000 annually to remain active.

YTD Raised: £200.00We provide donated clothing for adults and for children of school age upwards free of charge to families and individuals who are in need and have been referred to us. We aim to show that we care and we want to provide support to those in need by offering a listening ear and by signposting where appropriate. We work closely in partnership with other charities and agencies to achieve this. Where there is a need, we sometimes pass on donated clothing to these charities and agencies. Most of the clothing we pass on goes to those in need in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, although we do sometimes send clothing further afield. People often think of clothing as that is the main thing we need (which of course, is essential) but this is generally well serviced. Actually, one of the largest needs we have at the moment is for vitals funds to keep the charity running and reach the hundreds of men, women and children we do every year. In fact, Community Foundation have just released a report highlighting that the number of children living in poverty in Milton Keynes has increased from 1 in 5 to 1 in 4! This breaks our hearts and shows us the need is bigger than ever. We would LOVE to reach so many more of these children, families and adults struggling to supp
