(UK, 1072988) Browse eventsStaines Shopmobility is an independent registered charity based on the Two Rivers shopping centre in Staines. The charity provides mobility equipment to enable people with limited mobility to independently access essential services, such as shops, banks, opticians, libraries and social / recreational facilities, within the town of Staines. The service promotes an equality of opportunity and community involvement amongst the beneficiary group. It also improves confidence, health and mental welfare amongst service users who would otherwise be left isolated from the community and dependent on others to shop and access services for them.Research has shown that 90% of Shopmobility users would not be able to fully access Staines town centre without the service. This can lead to increased isolation; reduced independence and affect people’s health and general well-being. The charity has been helping people access the town centre since 1998 and has been used over 45,000 times since opening its doors. Income from donations and fundraising events enable us to continue providing this vital service
