On a bright, sunny morning in May, 2011, Dominic Morrogh – husband, father, son, brother and good friend to many people - arrived at Dollymount Strand for another day of doing what he loved – kite surfing. It was a day that would change his life – and the lives of many others – forever. Dominic sustained a traumatic brain injury in a terrible accident, and fell into a minimally conscious state, where he remains. He is currently a resident at Donnybrook Royal Hospital, which is a very caring and positive environment for Dominic and his family. In the three years since his accident, Dominic has benefited from the amazing support of family and friends. While Dominic has not been able to engage his body in physical activity, his circle of supporters have worked actively at keeping his body strong, and to do everything possible to aid his recovery.

Our supporters sponsor their education from nursery school through to university. Many of the youngsters are orphans and live at a village orphanage that we also support.We help with self-sufficiency programmes, clean water and solar lighting, as well as with capital building projects. Help us turn the "muddy mound" into something magnificient this summer!Newnham Education Trust (NET) is currently fundraising to redevelop an area of the main school playground into an adventurous, natural, flexible education and play space that is suitable for children of all ages.The new play space will connect children with nature and encourage them to be more active and exploratory. It will be accessible to all, inspire creativity, be challenging and exciting, flexible in purpose and use natural and sustainable materials (including sweet chestnut, larch and pine, and will incorporate woodworking and traditional crafts in its construction). It will allow children to play in all weathers and in significant numbers without detriment to the health of existing trees, which will be incorporated into the design. The playground will be used by all children at the school, as well as the New Croft Club which provides after school and holiday childcare, and the 11th/9th Cambridge Scouts and Guides About NET: the organisation was set up in 1996 to advance the education of pupils at Newnham Croft Primary School.   Past projects include donations toward the development of the Wild Garden outdoor learning environment for Reception and KS1, purchase of mini iPads, and help with installing solar panels on the roof of the school.  Donations to NET are allocated for use in the school as quickly as possible.  NET welcomes donations of any size, large or small and is able to maximise donations by using the Gift Aid Scheme for donations made by UK tax payers.NET is governed by 5 trustees - the Headteacher, the Chair of the Governing Body, the Chair of the PTA, and two trustees nominated by the Governing Body and PTA respectively.If you would like further information about NET or the projects they are currently supporting, please contact the school office on 01223 508737, or [email protected] or contact NET's secretary Liz Day at [email protected] Charity No: 1056903
