Sadly, 1 in 3 Australians is at increased risk of kidney disease and an estimated 1.7 million Australians over the age of 25 already have at least one clinical sign of existing kidney disease. Kidney Health Australia, formerly known as the Australian Kidney Foundation, is a national health care charity with a vision to save and improve the lives of Australians affected by kidney disease. Kidney Health Australia aims to; • Educate the general public about the risk factors of kidney disease and train health professionals to help spread this message. • Advocate on behalf of all kidney patients and the tireless carers who support those living with kidney disease. • Research for a cure. Kidney Health Australia is the largest non-government funder of kidney disease research in Australia. • Support Australians affected by kidney disease through a range of resources and programs. Kidney Health Australia is independent of Governments and indebted to the community for their support.
