(UK, 1172007) Browse eventsOn behalf of the children, staff and governors, I am proud to introduce you to the Coombe Road Primary School 'JustGiving' page. We are committed to providing an excellent learning experience within an inclusive culture of pastoral support and care: an experience built on the foundations of strong relationships, where everyone is valued. As a one-form entry school at the heart of our community, there is a real ‘family feel’ to our school and the fact that all of our staff knows and understands the needs of all of our children is a true strength of the school. As a result, here at Coombe Road every child is given the opportunity to thrive as we remove barriers to learning, ensuring that all of our children make excellent progress and achieve as highly as possible. We are raising funds to enrich the children's learning to give them the best start in life. Mr Scrase Headteacher

Currently water has to be transported up to 2 miles - by relays of children carrying heavy containers on foot! (UK, XR75500) Browse eventsIn conjunction with St Peter and St Paul's Church in Ewhurst, we have set up the ultimate adrenaline rush event. On Saturday 14th June, those who are brave enough will be able to climb to the top of Guildford Cathedral and abseil off using a zip-wire. Just getting to the top of the Tower is a challenge in itself - and then there's nothing between you and the ground. Recent changes in funding mean that small village schools have lost some of the subsidies that have been in place for many years - realistically schools need to have 250+ children to be economically viable and the School has 90. We are aiming to raise money to help secure the future of the school and to ensure that this generation of children receive at least the same opportunities as those who have gone before. St Peter and St Paul's Church has been at the heart of the village for over 800 years. Maintaining the fabric and keeping it alive as a place of worship - rather than as a monument is a challenge that inevitably requires more money than we can raise through normal day-to-day contributions. Whatever is raised for the Church through this event will ensure that we can kepour heart beating. Volunteers for the abseil - and there is a limited number of places - can raise funds for the School, for the Church or for both. You decise and let us know. Click on the 'Events' tab to the left of this page to find out more and book your place. Go on - be brave!
