(UK, 1151763) Birmingham Community Hosting Network (BIRCH) is a volunteer led charity working to harness the enthusiasm of local people to offer friendship and hospitality to people seeking sanctuary in the Birmingham area. We were first established in 2011 as a hosting network aiming to relieve the destitution of asylum seekers whose support and accommodation from the Home Office has been cut off. Over the last seven years we have supported a growing network of amazing volunteer hosts to provide over 9000 nights of accommodation to individuals experiencing destitution in their journey through the asylum process. From a Hosting Network BIRCH has grown to incorporate a further two projects; the Family Befriending Project and the Meet and Greet. The Family Befriending Project supports local volunteer families to befriend young refugees aged 16-21 who have come to the UK alone, usually as unaccompanied minors. The Meet and Greet project runs a weekly lunch, play and activity session in central Birmingham for newly arrived asylum seeking families. The majority of the families live in a nearby hostel where conditions are cramped and children are without school places whilst awaiting longer term accommodation. The Meet and Greet has an emphasis on improving well-being and provides families with some respite from the difficulties of day to day life.

(UK, 1026647) Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.The Lover and Redlynch preschool creates a happy and stimulating learning environment for children aged 2- to 4 years old within the village of Lover, Wiltshire. The school achieves this by providing a hands-on learning environment in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework where children learn by playing, exploring and being active through creative and critical thinking which takes place both inside and outside the classroom. Oftsed (the Office for Standards in Education) ranked the pre-school ‘good’ in 2016.There are currently a record 27 children and the pre-school are in need of new resources and facilities to help us provide fresh and exciting stimulus for our children. The pre-school is saving for new outdoor garden apparatus that encourage children to be more active, resourceful and creative with building, making and coming together in teams. The pre-school is a registered charity and is run by a committee of dedicated parents. It has been operating for over 40 years and relies mainly on fundraising and donations. Ofsted are hugely encouraging of outdoor learning and with another Ofsted inspection imminent this facility would help the pre-school greatly in retaining its excellent reputation in the surrounding area Charity No: 1026647
