The mission of Denton Calvary Academy is to cultivate a Biblically-based educational experience with committed Christian parents and educators to nurture students to reflect the character of Christ and to understand that this life is but a mist and through their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ they endeavor to make daily choices from an eternal view of life. Your support is essential in raising funds to enhance and sustain the tradition of academic and athletic excellence at Denton Calvary Academy. We are thankful for God's provisions and acknowledge that our possessions and money belong to Him. Therefore, we experience a joy in giving that both honors and glorifies God. We exercise biblically based stewardship of all resources as we take seriously the privilege of being entrusted by parents, grandparents, and friends who are committed to our schools purpose. We want you to know that your gifts are making an impact on the lives of the students here, because your funds allow us to fulfill our vision. Denton Calvary Academy is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) school that does not receive any state funding, therefore we rely solely on fundraising to support our students that will be our leaders tomorrow. In 1999, when we first opened our doors, we had 95 students in grades 1st-10th. Currently we have 308 students in grades K-12. We are utilizing every possible room for classroom space but will we outgrow our current facilities. Therefore, The Calvary Challenge- Run the Race funds will be designated for the continued growth of DCA: construction funding, improvement opportunities, scholarship funds, and building a legacy. In a nutshell: Funds will be used to help 'take DCA to the next level!'

The British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) was formed in 1918 with twelve founding members. Today, with over 4,000 members, the Association sees its purpose as working for the benefit of patients by advancing the science and practice of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. The BOA believes it has been very successful in this role and the increasing demand is reflected in the fact that, today, 40% of all surgeons in the UK work in Trauma and Orthopaedics. As well as the human cost of pain and suffering, musculoskeletal disorders are the most common cause of illness in the UK affecting over 8.5 million people and are responsible for in excess of 11 million lost working days at a cost to society, in 2007 prices of over £7 billion. It is the sixth-largest area of NHS expenditure, at over £3.3 billion annually and accounts for over 30% of patients who visit their GPs. Over the years, through different charitable vehicles, the BOA has granted in excess of £5.7 million to support orthopaedic research. As a charity, it relies on voluntary donations from people such as you. Joint Action has been established by the BOA to help patients by raising funds for research so as to improve orthopaedic treatment for you and future generations. We aim to Keep People Mobile.

Project le Monde is a Surrey-based educational charity, run by volunters, to support educational projects in Uganda. We beleive that by providing under privilidged communities in Uganda with good quality school buildings can significantly improve the educational experience and life prospects of thousands of children. Our great fundraising event this year is a 1000 mile bike ride to support our oorphan project. The ride will take 2 weeks, and 9 hardy cyclists from London, Cornwall, Zurich and Kenya will set off in August to cycle from Dar es Salaam in Tanzania through the Usambara mountains, around the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, then cross the Ngorogoro Crater and Serengeti in a four wheel drive, then back on the bikes to ride around the base of Lake Victoria, and finally up into Uganda crossing the equator to reach Kampala. We will be meeting our orphans in Kampala for a celebratory lunch. All the money we receive will go towards building a home and a school for them, so that they are given a better start in life. The children are all aids orphans, and they have no living relative willing or able to help them, which means they are currently living on the streets of Kampala. Please help us reach our fundraising goal of £5,000 to give the project a great start. Land has been purchased for the buildings, and initial plans for accommodation blocks and a schoolroom drawn up, so work can commence as soon as we have the money available. Please see our photo gallery for more pictures of the orphans, and our partner in the project Judith Babirye, a well known gospel singer in Uganda. Thank you ! Keep updated on the riders progress by reading our blog!
