The Danes are assessed before re-homing. We give advice on breed problems and ensure that all Danes are given a health check and are neutered if at all medically possible. All prospective homes are checked before a Great Dane is re-homed and regular contact kept.

YTD Raised: £270.00HDSSG was set up by parent volunteers in the Huddersfield district of children with Down Syndrome. As a group we aim to provide support to the families, to celebrate our children’s achievements, champion their views and aspirations and also provide social, sporting and learning opportunities for the children and their siblings. We use valuable donations from smashing people just like you to fund fun things like activities and outings but also the serious stuff like resources and speech & language therapy. A donation of £60 lets up to 8 of our families have private use of a hydrotherapy swimming pool for an hour. It costs £500 for 14 of our children to access 'Chatterbox' - our speech and language therapy programme with our qualified therapist, Louise Usher, once a month. £4 helps us put together a 'New Parent' pack. These are distributed to local hospitals to be given to new parents of babies with Down Syndrome congratulating them on their new arrival, and letting them know we are here when they need us.
