We develop skills and support our beneficiaries into work through gardening, woodwork, floristry, conservation work and working in our shops and farmers’ market. In order to finance our work we need to be inventive and rely on support from the community and our volunteers.

Creating better places: Helping people work together to make their surroundings greener, safer and healthier, and get involved in local decision making. Promoting greener living and working: Helping people and businesses learn more about their environmental impact and act responsibly to reduce the use of natural resources and improve their health.

Around 42,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK; if detected at an early stage the 5-year survival rate is over 90% and GUTS works to improve early detection. We fund equipment and facilities at the Royal Surrey County Hospital that benefit bowel cancer patients from across the south of England. We also fund research into the disease and campaign for greater awareness of bowel cancer.
