We have 30 years experience in providing a professional counselling service helping people to survive sexual violence, rape and abuse. Counselling is available for anyone aged 16+ in all regions of NI (aged 11+ in BHSCT, NHSCT & SEHSCT Health Trust areas). We offer counselling in 25 centres across Northern Ireland including Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Portadown and Enniskillen.

To offer education about seizure recognition, seizure first aid and increase understanding about epilepsy in general. To help combat the isolation often associated with epilepsy and to encourage individuals and families to start opening their windows to the world without feeling vulnerable. To establish a principle that epilepsy creates unity and builds strong bonds. We need to educate people on what to do and what not to do when someone is having a seizure, to encourage concerned authorities to take action to improve the lives of people with epilepsy and to provide communities, schools and workplaces with sessions, courses, seminars and presentations to educate on the basics of epilepsy.

YTD Raised: £245.00ABC for Life is a registered NPO (073-897) and PBO (930-029-913) under the umbrella of Hout Bay Educational Trust. We are based at Sentinel School in the community of Hangberg. Our Vision: To equip the majority of the school leavers with the tools they need to become productive members of the society. Our Mission: To provide a small-group environment for Sentinel Primary School learners who have fallen behind academically in the key areas of English, Afrikaans and Maths as to enable them to meet the required academic standards, build self-confidence and motivate them to stay in school and participate in afterschool programmes. In the years that it has been in existence, ABC for Life has equipped literally thousands of children who would otherwise have failed with the skills to succeed at their education. These are children who, without ABC for Life’s intervention, would in all likelihood have dropped out of school functionally illiterate, innumerate and unemployable. They would have swelled the ranks of the unemployed. Not only would they not have been in a position to make a meaningful and productive contribution to society, they would, as experience in the community of Hangberg has shown, cost the country dearly, either as recipients of government hand-outs, or as career criminals. ABC for Life gives these children a foundation upon which they can build their lives. It gives them the skills to complete their schooling. It gives them a vision for their lives

YTD Raised: £245.00Friends of St Marcellin's Children supports the 77 vulnerable children residing in St Marcellin Children's Village, Harare, Zimbabwe. The village receives extremely limited support from the government and the responsibility of providing the children with a stable and happy home rests on Norman and Sybil Macdonald an elderly couple from South Africa and host of well wishers like us. We support provision of education, nutrition, healthcare and leisure activities in a family environment. The children range from 1-17 years of age and we have been holding their hands through their turbulent lives since early 2005. Our UK charity is run by volunteers and takes nothing for administration costs - it all goes to the children and sustainable village projects such as chicken rearing, kitchen gardening, fish breeding and now their very own primary school. Trustees are in regular contact with the village and do annual visits to ensure appropriate spending of all funds and to give personal support. Our three specific objectives are as follows: supporting the provision of education; supporting the provision of health and nutrition care and to promote social and psychological development for the orphans and vulnerable children in the care of St Marcellin Children's Village.

We at RIBA are strong believers in that no matter what your background, if you have a passion to be an architect you should be able to fulfil it. It now costs an architecture student around £88,000 to complete their education. This means that talented, ambitious and driven young people are being ousted from the profession due to financial hardship. It also means that Architecture is losing out, from a lack of diversity, versatility and imagination that comes from professions that are truly open to all. At RIBA we want to fix this, relieve the debt of young architects and make the profession accessible for all to flourish in. The Student Hardship Fund was set up in 1997. To date we have helped hundreds students, with grants of over £85,000 being awarded last year alone. Every penny that comes in to the Student Hardship Fund goes directly back out to help architecture students across the UK.
