ABOUT OUR VOICE In the pursuit of a community that is free of sexual violence, Our VOICE serves all individuals in Buncombe County affected by sexual assault, abuse and human trafficking, through counseling, advocacy and education. Our VOICE, Inc. is a non-profit crisis intervention and prevention agency which serves victims of sexual violence and human trafficking, age 13 through adult, in Buncombe County. The agency was founded in 1974 as an all-volunteer grassroots organization. The agency remained underground until August 1983 when we received our 501(c)(3) status as a non-profit agency and the first employee was hired. Now, over 40 years and considerable growth later, Our VOICE employs nineteen paid staff and over 50 volunteers, working both to support the healing of survivors of sexual violence and to prevent future acts of sexual violence.
Age UK Devon believes that age should give everyone everything to live for. Every donation we receive will help us to make a personal difference to the lives of older people, their families and carers throughout Devon. We help those who are lonely and isolated by offering a home-visiting service by one of our trained volunteers. We assist older people experiencing financial hardship to claim their benefit entitlements. We provide someone to turn to for information and advice in order to find solutions, reduce anxiety and rediscover a sense of empowerment. We organise day opportunities and social activities - including computer classes, exercise classes, gardening activities for people with dementia and reminiscence day trips. We support people to remain independent in their own homes. We are there for when a crisis happens and there is no-one else to turn to. We depend on donations to ensure that we can continue to work alongside, help, support and empower 300,000 older people living throughout Devon.

A person can survive for weeks without food, days without water but only a few minutes without air. It’s about time to take asthma seriously! Asthma Foundation WA's vision is to free West Australians from the burden of asthma. Over 2 million Australians have asthma and many can quickly find themselves struggling to breathe. Unfortunately many people don’t recognise asthma symptoms or realise how serious asthma can be. Our purpose is to provide information, education, training, and advocacy in the community and to promote and fund respiratory research.

In December 2006, a light industrial building at Unit C, Golden Crescent, Hayes, was leased and eventually bought through fundraising by the members of the community and they are now sustaining the project by yearly contributions and fundraising. The property was derelict and needed a lot of work. It was renovated and converted into a centre for the Muslim community. The centre started operating fully in February 2008. The purpose behind Quba centre is to provide services needed by the community and to provide a platform on which to reach out to other communities.
We inform, empower and support people living with HIV their negative partners, family members, close friends and carers so they can live healthy active lives, free from stigma and prejudice. We offer FREE online support to anyone over the age of 16 who is living with or affected by HIV. Having the opportunity to talk to someone else who is also living with the same health condition is very powerful and recognised by HIV experts and clinicians as a vital part of modern HIV care. This approach is often referred to as peer support, which forms the central part of the way we work. We also recognise the importance of supporting those who experience poor mental health and all our volunteers and staff delivering peer support hold a recognised mental health first aid qualification or have also experienced poor mental health at some point in their life. The online peer support service is available across the UK and includes British nationals living or working overseas. We believe universal access to peer support is an essential part of HIV care which builds confidence and empowers people to live well, whilst fulfilling their life goals and ambitions! We believe HIV negative partners, family members, close friends and carers of people living with HIV are given to up-to-date information and can also access HIV support. Like any life changing health event, having the support of loved ones and those closest to them is so important and can make a real difference at a very difficult time. Our wider aim is to support people who are at high risk of acquiring HIV and poor sexual health. Improving knowledge of modern methods of HIV prevention is vital if the UK is able to achieve the goal of ending the transmission of HIV by 2030. Our aim is to support people who use medications such as PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis) to prevent them getting HIV.
Our goal is to alleviate the negative impacts of disasters, hazards, crisis and emergencies on affected populations within the UK and internationally through the training, coordination and deployment of a diverse range of volunteers.
