The Denis Hurley Association is a UK based charity. Our aim is to promote and raise funds for the Denis Hurley Centre, Durban, South Africa. The Denis Hurley Centre is based in the Emmanuel Cathedral, in the heart of the city of Durban, where half a million people make their way through one of Africa's busiest transport hubs every day. Many of the people are hungry, ill or homeless. They are the poor of Durban and refugees from other parts of Africa. They look to the Cathedral for help and support. The Denis Hurley Centre provides: Outreach to refugees, homeless people, people living with HIV/ AIDS and others in distress, Free food, including a hot meal, for the homeless and for anyone in extreme need, together with clothes, showers and toilet facilities, Free medical/ health care, including HIV/AIDS testing and support, Refugee pastoral care.
