The origins of Care Outreach date back to the early 1990’s when founders Bill and Melissa Close were in itinerant ministry to churches and communities throughout Australia. With a break in their schedule, they travelled to a region that was suffering from drought to offer practical assistance and ministry. It was during this trip that they were struck by the disadvantages faced by Bush people and the number of suicides among farm families. From then on, the focus of their ministry shifted to caring for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of people in Rural and Remote Australia.

In 2016, the Lorna Byrne Children’s Foundation will support: 1. APA (A Partnership with Africa) - www.apa.ie 2. Blue Box -www.bluebox.ie 3. Unicef Ireland’s Syria Appeal - www.unicef.ie The foundation receives financial support from a number of private patrons and corporate sponsors who have committed to funding the operational costs of running the organisation.By operating in this way we can keep our costs very low and we can make sure as much of the funds raised go directly to the charities and projects we support.
