Helping Hands In Uganda

We primarily do this through: 1) Fun health lessons, helping children to fight common diseases like malaria 2) Simple disease prevention measures like mosquito nets, hand-washing cans and latrines 3) Regular school visits from our mobile health team who carry to treat sick children 4) Training children and their families in good nutrition and more effective farming methods

The Trust trains and supports qualified yoga teachers for work in prisons - in substance misuse, anger management and education programmes. Prisoners are invited to practise daily in their cells and supported by 150 weekly classes in 87 prisons in the UK and Ireland. The PPT encourages them with correspondence, free resource books, CDs, and quarterly newsletters, and also works with prison staff and officers in 20 weekly classes.

YTD Raised: £120.00Having recently discovered that Barrhead has ZERO Public Access Defibrillators, the Rotary Club of Barrhead is spearheading a community partnership to purchase and site 10 PADs throughout Barrhead. (Neilston has at least 3, Uplawmoor 2 and Lugton has 1). The cost of this initiative is £20,000. First, the sites have been identified, owners of property contacted to give consent then monies need to be raised. "Levern Valley Defibrillator Community Partnership" is the vehicle to raise the funds. Hopefully, all sections of the community will support this initiative.

Its sole objective is to raise funds for the learning enrichment of every single pupil helping towards the cost of school trips and providing additional learning resources. Dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to help raise funds towards this goal each year. RAFT is a significant partner in this continued goal and works closely in partnership with the school to raise funds towards dedicated projects each year.
