YTD Raised: $0.00We provide a place for people with no place The Mission has always worked with “people who seemed to be placed in the too-hard basket by others; for example chronic schizophrenic sufferers, itinerants, especially alcoholics and multi-problem families” (Martin 1976) Established in 1946 Prahran Mission, an agency of the Uniting Church in Australia, provides emergency relief services to those experiencing poverty, homelessness and economic disadvantage as well as rehabilitation services to those experiencing mental illness and psychiatric disability. We believe that everyone deserves a decent life. Vision Every person with a mental illness or living with extreme economic and social disadvantage has the right to a decent life. Mission Our mission is to partner with those who have or have had a mental illness or experience extreme social and economic disadvantage in order to facilitate a full and meaningful life. Prahran Mission achieves this through the provision of services that are grounded in our values and by effecting beneficial social change that creates opportunities for meaningful participation in society. Prahran Mission works to address those attitudes, institutions and policies which create and perpetuate inequality.

(UK, 1075963) Paperworks main aim is to provide work preparation training and support towards employment for adults with learning disabilities, mental health and other health related barriers to work. This includes basic skills such as team working, following instruction, quality control, health and safety, manual handling and other skills vital in the workplace. We can also support trainees (and employer) in work experience placements within other organisations. We have offices based in Harrogate and Leeds, and offer commercial print, postage and packing services as a basis for our "On the job" training as well as to produce income to support our charitable activities.

We work with our local community in Bristol offering workshops and classes to all ages, the picture above shows carnival puppets made with people from across Bristol and we think they are awesome. Every two years we work with the puppetry community worldwide to bring you Bristol Festival of Puppetry. Next festival 2019!More details www.puppetplace.org Please donate to support our cause.Puppet Place has been going for 40+ years. We are based in a wonderful old warehouse on Bristol's harbourside. We now want to make it fit for purpose so that we can run more workshops, make it more accessible to different groups, ensure the lights keep working, stop the leaks and make it warmer in winter for everyone whether they are a human or a puppet. If you want to find out more about Puppet Place and visit, we are participating in Bristol Open Doors 15-16 September. It's an opportunity to visit the Aladdin's cave (aka the workshop) and talk to some of the artists and puppets who make Puppet Place their home.
