SAAF was formed as a community association in 2002 in response to the stigmatisation associated with HIV/AIDS in the African community in the UK and the hopeless plight of HIV orphans, mostly "street children" in Southern Africa. SAAF works in England & Wales, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa.
