St Joseph's School Association in Bishop's Stortford raises much needed funds to support and enhance the education of the children at our school. We organise fun, family events that support the community spirit of our school as well as raising funds to pay for extra facilities over and above those normally provided. One of few charities to use every penny of donations for aid. We run a boys home and girls home, slum tuition centres, and a residential home for destitute street elderly in India. We also provide and run palliative care ambulances to take pain relief and end of life care to those living in poverty - too sick and poor to reach hospital care. After 23 years of operation we can say that many of the children rescued from street work are now in secure employment. Our graduates , some at Masters Level top over a hundred. The World Health Organisation along with other NGO's in a recent survey said that there are more poor people in India than the poorest African countries combined. Our charity seeks to serve and care for the very poorest. We have no office and only limited overheads to comply with Charity Commission requirements, so really can say that your money will make a direct difference to the life of someone living in worst poverty than we can visulise. Our charity head, Pat, has set up and continues to manage our projects - travelling at her own expense - well over 40 visits made now.
