We are particularly successful at working with people of all ages and backgrounds to improve their own and their families' life chances. There is a focus on mental health support for people with low to moderate depression, anxiety and associated conditions.

YTD Raised: £30.00Special Olympics Gateshead Sporting Club - a registered charity, which provides opportunities for people with learning disabilities in Gateshead to undertake weekly sports training and compete in regional, national and international competitions. Special Olympics Gateshead was accredited by the Great Britain Board in April 2014 and you may have seen footage of us on both Tyne Tees and BBC (Look North) local TV news on Friday 30th May 2014, when Lawrie McMenemy, (Special Olympics GB President) was in attendance. The Special Olympics programme is the 3rd strand of the Olympics, alongside the Olympics and Paralympics. Unlike the other two organisations, the Special Olympics programme continually struggles for fundraising and our ability to buy sports equipment, rent sporting venues or travel to local and national competitions is very much down to our own fundraising endeavours.
