We consist of a small number of people who voluntarily give their time to rehoming those boxers who, through no fault of their own, have to find a new family. We also try to help with general advice on the Boxer breed and any problems which may arise. Our work consists of booking in and vetting homes available, taking details of dogs to be relocated, transporting Boxers from home to home, and running a back up service when required. Although we aim to place dogs directly from one home to another, it is sometimes necessary to invoke the use of kennels and foster homes on a temporary basis. Where there is difficulty in rehoming a dog due to age or medical condition, we can offer help with veterinary fees. This is only possible thanks to our Sponsor Scheme, where supporters can sponsor a dog of their choice. We also aim to promote responsible Boxer ownership by holding training sessions, mainly in basic obedience, together with fun classes for all, at regular intervals near St. Albans, Hertfordshire. Started primarily for the rehomed Boxer these sessions are now open to all Boxers and their owners, and usually provide a very entertaining afternoon. As you can imagine, all these activities run away with the finances - telephone bills, petrol, kenneling fees and vet bills. We are a registered charity and rely very heavily indeed upon the donations for rehomed Boxers, and fundraising events organised by the committee and supporters - such as exemption shows, raffles, tombola's, stalls, sponsored events etc. Membership subscriptions play a major role and we are always delighted to welcome new members - it is one way, as a boxer lover, that you can surely help the breed that you love. We produce newsletters giving you news or forthcoming events, informative articles on the breed, and stories about the boxers you have helped to rehome. If you feel you have the odd hour to spare and would like to become involved, please contact any committee member.
