We are building community hubs, education and sports facilities, developing school assistance programmes, initiating micro-agriculture projects, and enhancing local training capability, in order to build social cohesion and hope, in communities at home, and in the Balkans.
The charity funds free addiction workshops and support groups in-person and online. We also provide a free booklet to support the education we provide. Each year we organise a "Rucksack Appeal" nationwide to support the homeless throughout the winter and offer them support around their mental health
Footsteps offers a free generic counselling service to clients from secondary school age to adult. We started in 2013 and last year we secured our own premises where we offer an extremely safe, ethical and professional environment for our clients and volunteers.
Cambridge School Volunteers mobilizes the power of volunteers to support the academic and personal success of Cambridge Public School students, junior kindergarten through 12th grade. We are a group of Paramedics, Ambulance personnel, fellow health care professionals, family and friends. Many of the original founders of our group have been volunteering in developing countries, fundraising and raising awareness of some of the challenges that are faced in Africa and Asia, amongst others, for over 10 years. As a group of friends, most of us Paramedics,we came together in 2016 to work on our first group project in Cameroon. This work involved assisting in the construction of the building of a health centre, as well as working alongside local medical staff in it. It soon became obvious to all of us that a number of our colleagues had wanted to do something similar. With an amazing amount of support from the general public we decided to set up Volunteer Medics as a Charity to provide a quality volunteering programme with the Ambulance Service, associated health care professionals and friends in mind. So here we are!
