(UK, 1075896) Browse eventsBell View (Belford) is a Community-Based Registered Charity located in Belford with a catchment area covering approximately 200 sq miles of scattered rural and costal settlements across North Northumberland. Our charity aims to support and enable Older People to live independently and improve their quality of life, by reducing social and rural isolation and improving their physical and mental health. We achieve this through the provision of numerous services and activities which provide opportunities for participation, enabling Older People to make positive decisions and choices in the later years of living. We offer a wide range of regular social and leisure activities, which include Lunch Clubs, Shopping Trips, Craft Sessions, an Older Persons Gym, a Digital Inclusion Group, a Singing Group, an Information and Advice Service and a Book Reading Group, to name but a few. Our Community Transport service the “BRINGO” operates for people who are unable to get out and about independently. We are helped by a fantastic team of volunteers from within the local community. We welcome donations and fundraising help, all of which will help us to provide the best possible service for our beneficiaries. You can follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

(UK, 1103967) Browse eventsWe are a group of parents, other family members and staff from Highwoods Community Primary School in Colchester. We are a registered charity, and run events for our school community with the aim of providing a fun event for our children, along with raising funds for the school via the PTA charity. Examples of events we run are a Magic Show, a Christmas Disco, a Summer Fair, a Bake Off competition and Mothers Day/Fathers Day sales. In these times of cuts in school funding support from the PTA is more important than ever. We aim to fund equipment, works and events which will benefit all the children. Examples of our spending include funding coaches to take all of the children to the Christmas pantomime so parents only need to buy theatre tickets. We fund a yearly French Workshop. In recent years we have funded refurbishment and book purchases for both school libraries. We have also funded activity sheds around the school field and play equipment to be used in them. Our next fundraising target is to fund a new climbing frame, as the current one only allows a small number of children to use it. This should promote more enjoyment and activity for our children at break and lunchtimes.

The Puzzle: Charities and other mission-driven organisations are faced with an onslaught of decisions on how to best collect, analyse and visualise the data that will help them make the world a better place. The Solution: We create teams of pro bono data scientists who work together with these organisations to understand the need, find a solution, and collaborate to tackle the problem with data science.
