EDT (UK, 1156066) Browse events

YTD Raised: £360.00

Thank you for visiting EDT's page on MyDonate. For over 30 years we have been able to support a number of young people on their journey to be the engineers and technologists of the future, help them understand the real world application of what they learn in the classroom, and develop the work ready skills they need. Each year EDT is approached by thousands of young people and schools who have a desire to learn more about engineering and technology BUT this outweighs the number of industry partners that can provide the support. This means we have to turn away budding engineers, scientists and technologists. We all know there is a shortage of suitably qualified employees entering STEM industries. We know that more can be done and needs to be done to ensure that our talent pipeline is strong. Despite the shortage of STEM skilled young people, we still have a high level of youth unemployment and students not in employment, education or training (NEETs).Closing this gap and offering opportunities to a range of young people is surely one of our greatest challenges. With your help and support we can change this.£60 supports a student with information, advice and guidance on getting a work placement£125 provides a three day programme for a student giving them insights into Apprenticeships, University and Employers.£165 supports a student to attend a five day course where they take on a challenge to replicate working in a commercial engineering project.
