(IE, CHY11481) Browse eventsRESPECT is an Irish Charity with responsibility for fundraising capital projects and research undertaken by the to Daughters of Charity Disability Support Services. As the name RESPECT suggests, our goal is to respect quality of life and enable people to reach their full potential. To date RESPECT has focused its fundraising efforts on building customised bungalows to facilitate the needs of residents with various disabilities and dementia. Two such projects have recently been completed in St. Louise’s, Chapelizod, and in St. Joseph’s, Clonsilla, but there is always more to be achieved. In recent times RESPECT has begun to explore the area of assistive technology which is another channel to further enhance the quality of life for people with autism and intellectual disabilities. Research into this area is expensive but the benefits outweigh the cost and for some will be life changing. Technology can be a means of communication and a voice for those who are unable to speak. To learn more about the uses of Assistive Technology, you can view our video and visit our DOCTRID / ASSISTID website. There are many ways to support RESPECT - our Charity Details section has more information. Thank you for taking time to read about RESPECT – all your support and generosity is greatly appreciated.
