The GOLR Cup of Kindness (UK, 1101033) Browse events

YTD Raised: n/a

The Cup of Kindness Charity, founded in 1929 by The Grand Order of Lady Ratlings, has long been dedicated to supporting individuals from all walks of life who are in need of a helping hand. It is a unique social organisation consisting of professionals within the show business industry. Our charitable mission is to raise funds for The GOLR Cup of Kindness (Charity Number1101033), which assists those facing challenges in life. We believe that anyone, regardless of background, should be able to reach out to our charity when in need. Through the hard work and dedication of our members—affectionately known as Lady Ratlings—we organise a wide array of events, fundraisers, and shows to raise the necessary funds. These funds go toward providing essential equipment and support to individuals in need. Over the years, we have supported a variety of causes, including: • Assisting a Horse Riding School for disabled children. • Supporting hospices in their care efforts. • Helping a dance school provide inclusive opportunities for all. • Providing a wheelchair for a man diagnosed with bowel cancer and multiple sclerosis. • And many other individuals and organizations in need of our assistance. Our mission continues to grow as we work to ensure that kindness, support, and resources are available to those who need them most. We are proud to be a beacon of help and hope to the community.

Shetland Care Attendant Scheme (UK, SC020042) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

SCAS employ Care Attendants to go into carers homes to look after their loved one/dependant so that they can have a well deserved break from their caring role. The carers can use this time as they wish: catch up on sleep, have a rest, get their shopping, meet friends or attend appointments. Carers’ health and wellbeing is improved greatly from having a regular break to look forward to and enjoy with peace of mind that their loved one/dependant is being kept safe and well looked after. The ‘cared for’ people also benefit from this as it greatly improves their health and wellbeing by seeing someone different, having more social interaction and if they are able, our Care Attendants often take them out into the community for a drive in the car, or to café’s. Anyone can refer a carer to us or carers can contact us themselves for support. Our fundraised monies and donations are used to pay towards the services we provide. We cover all areas of Shetland.
