The Himalayan Trust was founded by Sir Edmund Hillary and led by him until his death in 2008. Ed considered his greatest achievement in life not climbing Everest, but his philanthropic work in the region. He listened to requests for help from local people, consulted with them, then in partnership, implemented projects. We continue to follow in his footsteps, working alongside Nepalis to improve access to essential services such as health and education. Himalayan Trust is a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005, registration number CC39393.
