(UK, 1158843) Browse eventsAt the UK Sepsis Trust, we recognise the scale and significance of the impact of severe sepsis on sufferers and their families. Although many patients return to a normal life, those who survive the condition may experience longstanding physical effects, and some suffer from psychological difficulties resulting from their prolonged illness. We aim, through effort and through our status as a registered charity, to: 1. Provide support to patients and their relatives, including those bereaved by sepsis, through the provision of accessible information and the development of support networks Raise public awareness of sepsis through engagement of traditional and social media resources 2. Continue, via our associated education programme, Survive Sepsis, to educate health professionals of all disciplines in the importance of early sepsis recognition and management 3. Establish the infrastructure necessary to facilitate improvement through our Parliamentary lobbying campaign

JAR is committed to searching for a cure for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and raising awareness of JIA via the #ThinkJIA campaign. Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis is an autoimmune disorder affecting children and young people where the body starts to attack the joints, causing inflammation, pain, discomfort and reduced mobility. Left unchecked, it can lead to other health conditions as the immune system attacks organs, as well as permanent disability and long-term health implications. Many children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis suffer from uveitis, where the immune system attacks the eyes; if left untreated this can lead to permanent vision loss and blindness. Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis affects 1 in every 1,000 children under the age of 16.

(UK, 1182275) Browse eventsWe bring emergency support to refugees around the world to help with their most basic needs in time of crisis: food, clothing and shelter. Our group is entirely made of volonteers from the UK, intent on making the most impact from our modest contribution. We want to raise awareness of the refugee issue, and thanks to your donations, bring help directly to those who need it most. Insaaf started as an informal group of friends in December 2015, right in the middle of the Syrian refugee crisis in Europe. As images of thousands of refugees crossing the sea and trekking accross Europe were mass broadcast on TV and in newspapers, we had to act and do something about it. Thanks to friends, colleagues and family, we raised £8000 in three weeks to fund a first convoy to the refugee camp of Dunkirk in France, where over a thousand people lived in dire conditions in the middle of winter. We brought them tents, firewood, warm boots and other much needed essentials. Since then, Insaaf has grown and is now a Registered Charity. We have travelled back to France on many occasions and much further afield to places in Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, and Bangladesh, supporting Syrian and Rohingya refugees. We have learned more about the people who had to leave everything behind and have heard their stories. With your help we want to continue going to them with whatever help and comfort we can offer. It is our duty, their right.
