We take young people on classic expeditions of a challenging and scientific nature to wilderness parts of the world to develop and promote their self reliance, team work, leadership and a spirit of adventure. British Exploring encourages young people from all sectors of society to apply to become Young Explorers and Young Leaders. We raise funds for three main purposes: personal and leadership development, the Dangoor Next Generation Programme (for disadvantaged young people) and bursaries to enable more young people from all parts of society to join our expeditions. YTD Raised: £12,622.00

Team Jak provides practical, social and emotional support to children and young people with cancer and related illnesses age 0 to 25, their family, friends and those bereaved. Inspired by inspirational teenager Jak Trueman, whose life was sadly cut short following a short and aggressive battle with a rare form of blood cancer, Jak wanted no other child or family to face the isolation and fear tackled daily following diagnosis and during treatment, and set out clear aims on how to provide support for young people, their families and friends, with special mention of siblings. Team Jak provides support from Jak's Den mark 2 HQ in Livingston and has a number of Satellite Dens where putting smiles on faces and creating magical moments are at the fore and where children and families can share together and accept practical social and emotional support through various counselling and alternative therapies, support groups and fun activities. Team Jak also provide outreach support to the relevant hospitals and wards associated with our warrior and angel families, and any young person at home unable to access the Den.
