Horniman School is a very successful one-form-entry school with two bulge classes, currently in Year 5 and Year 1. It is a happy, inclusive and engaging place to learn and work; staff work hard together as a team to give the children the best possible learning opportunities. We look after all our pupils superbly and aim to make learning fun and enjoyable, in a safe and interesting environment. We are a great little school, with the best view in London! Like many schools, we are experiencing a challenging funding environment. Fortunately we have an enthusiastic and generous parent and teacher community, and between us we are working hard to make sure our children don’t go without, despite Government cuts. There are lots of ways to support Horniman School, and to donate both time and money via the PTA. We are very grateful for every single donation, no matter how small. Of course we love large donations, if anyone out there is wondering what to do with their lottery win! (UK, 1108975) Browse eventsWho we are We are Home-Start Richmond, the local branch of the national family support charity which currently supports 1 in 237 families in the UK. Parenting young children can be difficult at the best of times but when you have other issues or problems to cope with as well, it can become overwhelming. This is where Home-Start can help. What we do Last year we supported 250 families with over 500 children in the borough of Richmond upon Thames. We have about 100 home-visiting volunteers who are trained to support families (with at least one child under 5) who are experiencing difficulties such as post-natal depression, isolation, disability of parent or child, bereavement or a combination of factors that impact on their children’s development. Help us to support parents to give local children a better start in life. For more information, please visit www.homestart-richmond.org.uk.
