This Project was set up in 1995 by the North Kigezi Diocese of the Church of Uganda as a Christian response to the problems faced by orphaned and disabled children and their families. Regular surveys are carried out in remote areas to identify disabled children and provide them with access to: A chilli growing scheme which provides much needed income for families; Monthly clinics for children who need physio or occupational therapy, providing support for parents and carers, and teaching them to help their child develop sitting, feeding and walking skills; Surgical help for children with cleft palates, burn injuries, orthopaedic conditions and neurological conditions; Clinics for children with club foot, epilepsy, and visual problems; Support with education for deaf and disabled children, and sign language training for families.
