(UK, SC020022) Sailability Scotland is an independent Scottish Charity working with sailing clubs, centres and sailing schools throughout Scotland to improve and develop opportunities for the integration and support of people with disabilities into the sport of sailing and its associated pursuits. Our aim is to make the sailing environment an encouraging and welcoming place for all.To do this we need to encourage sailing clubs and centres to work in partnership with ourselves to promote the art and skills of boating for all people who have any form of physical, sensory or learning disability.We aim to assist in the setting up of new clubs or groups specifically for disabled sailors and to encourage sailing clubs to accept disabled people into membership.We seek to raise awareness in the disability community in Scotland of the tremendous benefits that sailing can provide.We maintain a large fleet of boats which are suitable for disabled people and lease these out to Clubs and Centres to enable them to provide the opportunity for disabled sailors.In addition we organise a competitive racing programme at venues around Scotland.
