(UK, Jimmy Goddard Trust Fund - N/A) Jimmy Goddard was paralysed from the chest down as a result of a climbing accident in August 2004. He is now in the final stages of rehabilitation but like other spinal injuries patients, will face ongoing costs for the rest of his life. The Jimmy Goddard Trust Fund has been set up to help give a better chance of leading an independent life again. The fund will also be donating some of the proceeds raised to the Welsh Air Ambulance and Spinal Injuries Association. We aim to protect, promote and enhance the health and rights of people marginalised by societies worldwide as a result of their gender, HIV status or sexual and reproductive health. Salamander seeks to promote sexual and reproductive health with HIV prevention, care and support, within a holistic, gender-based human rights framework. We Do this through Training, Global advocacy and Research. We have a flagship TRAINING programme, which is called "Stepping Stones", used in over 100 countries worldwide and recognised by WHO and others. Our GLOBAL ADVOCACY work highlights the human rights abuses faced by people with HIV globally, which make others fear to be tested for HIV. Our ground-breaking RESEARCH involves those most affected by an issue - so it focuses on the key issues they face.
