NAIA also promotes scientifically-based wildlife management, sustainable development and use of resources, and agricultural practices that consider humans and livestock as an integral part of the environment. NAIA draws a distinction between animal welfare and animal rights. We exist and operate to acknowledge the human-animal bond, and to support the humane and responsible care and treatment of animals in the settings where they are kept, raised and responsibly used.

Initially, we connected to celebrate the joys and concerns that come with having a child with Down syndrome. Since then we have all realized the importance of having a network of friends and resources and wanted to reach out to others who may be in our same situation. We like to meet once a month to get our kids together to play and to visit with each other about Down syndrome specific topics.
