(UK, 1131333) The David Mather Foundation supports bright young people in disadvantaged communities to achieve their aspirations to higher education by helping them to overcome economic, social and political boundaries. The youngsters, aged 15-16, live in Salta, Argentina where indigenous peoples make up 85% of the population but only 4% successfully complete higher education. We offer support in a variety of tailored ways which include contributing to the costs associated with their study, pairing them with mentors at the local university, providing workshops in self esteem and offering a quiet place to study. We also work with their families and local government to ensure that a support network is available. In addition we are working with young people in the UK, forging links between the countries and helping them to share experiences and learn from each other. Founded in 2009 we are a young and relatively small charity and as such, your money will go further.
