We provide hope, opportunities and care by sponsoring specific projects, currently in Kenya and Indonesia. Stars of Hope is run entirely by volunteers, and therefore, we have negligible adminstration costs. The Stars of Hope Children's Home in Ruai, Kenya is a home for 36 children from distressing circumstances, including abuse and abandonment. The Children's Home provides a home where they are clothed, fed, schooled and loved. We feel that education is very important to these children and the opportunity to attend school will have a fundamental difference in their lives. 32 of the Stars of Hope children are of school age and Stars of Hope is responsible for all the costs related to their education, including school fees, uniforms, transportation and school lunches. In addition, Stars of Hope also educates another 23 children from the local community. This year, the education budget is over £25,000 and we are constantly fundraising in order to be able to provide this life changing education for these 55 children. Sari Hati is our project in Bali, Indonesia. Sari Hati is a school for disabled young people. There are currently 25 pupils with varying degrees of disability. The school currently operates three days a week and provides a range of lessons and activities for the pupils, in addition to educating carers and parents. Sari Hati has a considerable and positive impact on the lives of these young people and offers invaluable support to their families.
