We work with women in Plymouth and surrounding areas as they rebuild their lives after trauma, homelessness, problematic substance use, and contact with the justice system. Employment offers more than income - it brings dignity, independence, and the power to shape a future. Through tailored one-to-one support, skills development, peer connection, and work placements, we help women break down systemic barriers and realise their potential. Our approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and rooted in partnership. Women lead their own journeys - we provide tools, opportunities, and encouragement to help them thrive. Your support helps us create life-changing pathways to employment, enabling women to build stable, fulfilling lives for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Our support ranges from a hot meal and medical care to work experience, counselling and NVQ accredited training Although an important aspect of our work is finding permanent accommodation, simply putting a roof over someone's head is rarely enough to correct the chain of events that led them into homelessness in the first place. NOAH works with the whole person to find permanent and individually tailored pathways out of homelessness and we continue to provide this support long after permanent accommodation has been found.

Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue

YTD Raised: €10,819.43The Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team has been in operation since 1983 and has been a branch of the Irish Red Cross since 1984. We carry out rescue activities throughout County Wicklow and further afield when required. The team is wholly comprised of volunteers, but strive to provide as professional a service as possible. We can be contacted 24/7 by ringing 999 or 112 and asking for “Mountain Rescue”. Members live and work mainly locally to the mountains and will assist anyone who has become lost, injured or perhaps trapped due to weather etc. The team has successfully built a mountain rescue base near Laragh in Co. Wicklow, and it was officially opened in May 2012 by President Michael D. Higgins. This represented a huge organisational and fundraising effort by the team and supporting community members. The next challenges facing the team include purchasing and modifying two new rescue vehicles, and an upgrading of the team’s communications system. Both of these will prove to be expensive ventures but are necessary as older versions become outdated and obsolete. We are asking for assistance throughout the community, and for people to contribute in any way they can. Every contribution is valuable and goes directly towards saving lives in the mountains.
