Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.Langdale/Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) operates in part of the central Lake District, Britain's busiest mountain area.Dealing with over 100 incidents per year, we are a self-funding dedicated team of 'professional volunteers' coming from all walks of life, united in their love of mountains and their wish to help their fellow mountaineers in trouble. Please donate as we rely entirely on public donation. The Team attends around 100 incidents annually which vary from a twisted ankle or overdue persons on easy paths to serious accidents or fatalities on cliffs and very difficult ground. Our response might involve deploying just a few members, or it could involve the majority of the Team supported by other adjacent teams, and various emergency services. The Team is always most appreciative of the support provided by other teams and agencies with the provision of a safe and rapid deployment of casualties to hospital.Nowadays all mountain incidents are reported to the police through the 999 system; they in turn will page the Team Co-ordinators who will undertake the team call out procedures. This voluntary service is provided 24 hours a day throughout the year regardless of the weather and ground conditions.
