(UK, 1086575) Providing support for men who have been sexually abused Mankind is the only agency in the South East dedicated to the wellbeing of men who have experienced sexual violation at any time in their lives. We define sexual violation as any non-consensual or unwanted act of sexualised violence, coercion, manipulation or abuse - this includes childhood sexual abuse, adult sexual assault and rape. We want to see a world where no one is silenced by sexual violence We focus on working with men because research estimates that 1-in-9 men have suffered childhood sexual abuse, and 1-in-29 men have experienced sexual violence as an adult. This equates to nearly 4 million men across the UK. We work with men but care about everyone We see sexual abuse as a community issue and it is only by working together we can tackle the problems that allows sexual abuse to persist. A contribution to Mankind will enable us to continue to provide therapeutic services to men and also develop community based resources that will empower us all to take action against abuse.
