Pensacola Survivors is for those who have lost a parent, spouse, child, sibling, friend, or any other loved one from suicide. Having to deal with the constant mental anguish as to why this has happened to you, or what you could've done differently to save your loved one can be debilitating. We wish to regain your hope and to let you know that survivors are not alone. Losing a loved one to suicide is different from any other loss. It is the mother of all tragedies. The death is very sudden and trying to come to grips with what happened can take a lifetime to accept or understand. On top of the death, the loss, the pain, we suffer a secondary trauma. We are often ostracized, blamed, judged and the world just isn't the same place that it was before. Pensacola Survivors aims to help our community stay aware of the resources set up by organizations to bring awareness to mental illnesses and to help end the stigma surrounding suicide so we can prevent one less survivor from the heart break we have endured in our journey.
