Many members lack in confidence, have poor self-image and under-developed social skills and the vast majority have also got co-ordination problems, general weakness and problems with gross and fine motor skills. The Group meets on a weekly basis, and provides a programme of activities encouraging members to participate in various games and sporting activities which they wouldnt ordinarily be able to undertake but have been devised and modified to meet their individual and group needs. Activities include: they also play Giant Jenga, have Beetle drives, undertake cookery sessions, have theatre and museum visits, and run quizzes and regular craft and visual arts evenings - which all provide opportunities to develop a variety of skills and personal confidence. The overall objective for the group is to provide a safe environment where the young people feel their individual needs are understood and where they are encouraged to learn new skills whilst having lots of fun.
