Sound Minds is a small Battersea based charity and social enterprise using the arts to improve the lives of people living with long term mental health issues. Our 'drop in', Mama Low's Kitchen, is a user led service that runs on Fridays at a local community centre. Attendees are unemployed because of their mental ill health. Mama's offers a safe place for people to support one another, share advice and enjoy a low cost meal and social activities. We are currently raising money to increase the range of our social activities, including running the ever popular 'Street Jazz Dance' class more often and to help subsidise outings and practical activities so people can feel more socially confident and increase their friendship networks Sound Minds largely serves Wandsworth and surrounding boroughs. We believe in the transformative impact of the arts and mutual support in people's recovery from long term mental health conditions. The majority of staff, volunteers and trustees originally came to receive the service they now help to provide. Members participate in a weekly timetable of short courses, music and arts activities with regular performances opportunities and exhibitions. Sound Minds has built an award winning national reputation for innovation and engagement with hard to reach groups. We also run peer support services, whereby people with lived experience of mental health issues support one another. These include regular Ward Visits to support people in hospital, help as people leave hospital to settle people back home, and 'Mama Low's Kitchen', a one day user led drop in. Charity No: 1079521

OutKast Incorporated is a non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable organization. It is founded primarily on the teachings of the late Reverend Sherman Glover. The mission of OutKast is to provide relief to the poor and the indigent, and the oppressed. The motivation of the organization is driven by and overwhelming love for the Creator of the World and a practical concern for the needs of humanity. A concern modeled after the unconditional, spiritual love, that was preached, practiced, demonstrated, and manifested in the body of Christ. It is our desire to distribute basic human necessities combined with personal counseling and truth, to help restore the spiritual, moral, and physical regeneration and rehabilitation to all people regardless of race, creed, color or religious affiliation.
Established in 1999 The Foundation plays an essential role in allowing the development of teaching and learning facilities for the benefit of all students. Without the support of The Foundation many of the recent site developments highlighted in this brochure would not have been possible. These developments make such an important difference to the quality of the education provided at Rickmansworth and provide an excellent learning and social environment that every child at Rickmansworth deserves. The Foundation is supported by parents and past students who make regular contributions, which, as outlined in our pledge are spent on improving the School and not to supplement the Government Annual Grant. Every pound is put back into the School for the benefit of the students to make a real and immediate difference to their education. The children at Rickmansworth are benefiting from the support of The Foundation and I hope you will be able to support us in our desire to provide the very best for your child. A monthly donation from all parents would go a long way to provide the children at our School with the first class facilities they deserve. I would therefore ask that you help your child and children of the future to learn and develop in an environment which maximises their opportunities to reach their potential, whilst continuing to build the special community at Rickmansworth. Thank you for your support.
We’re excited to announce that our Gateway Project has received planning consent and now we can start to push the project forward. We’ve secured funding and pledges totalling £968,000 for which we’re very grateful but there’s still much to do! We need your donation to make the project a reality.
